What the astronomy is

Nothing on this site is bought from an astrology API. The sidereal positions are computed here: the Moon from a truncated lunar theory, the Sun from low-precision solar coordinates, and the remaining grahas from JPL's Keplerian element set, all converted with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa.

Sunrise and sunset use the NOAA solar position algorithm, and Bikram Sambat dates are converted against published anchor tables. Every reading prints the positions it was derived from, so any figure on the site can be checked against a panchang rather than taken on trust.

What it is made of

Next.js and React on the front, TypeScript throughout, Tailwind CSS for the design system, and no astrology dependency of any kind — the calculation code is written for this site and lives in the repository.

The birth-chart calculators run entirely in your browser. Birth dates, times and places are never sent to a server, stored or logged, which is why they can be offered without an account.

What this site is not

Astrology is presented here as an interpretive tradition with a long documented history, not as science. The calculations are astronomy and can be checked; the readings drawn from them are interpretation and should be treated as such.
